Online Immersion | May 4 - 8, 2026
There are memories within each of us that cause us to feel split off from parts of ourselves: the moments we find difficult to accept, express, grieve, and feel compassion for. Yet they hold a lot of power—which we can feel by how much we avoid or ruminate over them.
I call these "self-healing stories," because they're the memories that can transform us when we learn to witness and harness the emotion and energy they've locked up.
In May, I'm hosting a weeklong online immersion to explore them in supportive community.
This immersion is based on a simple practice that’s been proven in over four hundred studies (yes, really) to improve mental and physical health:
We will write about a difficult part of our past, for twenty minutes a day, for four days.
This simple practice boosts heart rate variability, blood pressure, immune function, and mood. It reduces doctor’s visits, depression, and anxiety. It has shown such incredible healing effects, it’s actually been prescribed as a treatment for depression and other mental health issues.
Despite being completely free and accessible, this practice hasn’t caught on in the mainstream. We avoid digging into the past because it can be a painful, scary place, and we don’t always know how to go there in a contained way. We tell ourselves it’s best left alone—until our bodies scream at us to pay attention.
Even when we feel the past hurt rattling around in there, playing on loop in our heads, and we know there’s healing to be done, most of us don’t sit down to write about it.
I’ve spent my career helping people with this practice—by writing their memoirs.
But I’ve found that what many people want from that process isn’t a book; it’s to heal from their past.
So I’m taking the process and tools I’ve used with hundreds of memoirists to help people get the past out of their heads so they can tap into its self-healing power.
Self-Healing Stories is a 5-day live immersion designed to help you turn toward one or more meaningful stories from your past — in a grounded, structured, and supported way.
Over five consecutive mornings, we’ll meet live for two hours each day in a small, carefully held group. You’ll return to the same story through different lenses — breath, emotion, self-compassion, and relationship — using a research-backed expressive writing structure paired with somatic regulation tools.
Over the course of the week, you’ll safely process and integrate your stuck emotional story, so you can stop avoiding it and feel more acceptance in yourself and more authenticity in your relationships.
We’ll start with a weeklong practice and education, but you’ll learn a modality you can use as often as you want, for your entire life.
- Monday, May 4 to Friday, May 8
- 8am to 10am each day, live on Zoom
- Pilot cohort capped at 10 participants
- Investment: $450 (special pilot group rate)
- Enrollment closes May 2
You’ll learn how your nervous system responds to stress and memory — and how your breath reveals when you’re bracing or softening. You’ll write the first version of your story while tracking your body’s signals and practicing staying regulated.
You’ll return to your story and gently explore its emotional layers at a pace your nervous system can sustain. Through structured prompts, you’ll examine your relationship to these emotions and begin communicating with yourself more compassionately.
You’ll explore what you needed in this story — and practice becoming someone who can offer that now. Through guided letters between past, present, and future selves, you’ll deepen self-connection.
You’ll revisit your story one more time and reflect on what it would mean to be seen more fully in your relationships. You’ll consider whether any conversations feel ready — and what you’d want others to understand about you.
The final day is a facilitated witnessing space. Participants will be invited — never required — to share part of their story or reflections. Sharing is timed and held carefully so each voice has space. After each share, the group reflects back what resonates and what feels meaningful and connective. This is about being seen without being fixed.
Between sessions, we’ll stay connected in a private Signal group beginning the day before the immersion. You’ll introduce yourself through guided prompts, and throughout the week you can share reflections, questions, or shifts as they arise. The group will remain open for one week after the immersion to support integration and continued connection.
Sessions are not recorded. This is intentional. The safety of the container depends on presence and privacy. Participants commit to attending all five sessions. In the case of emergency absence, we’ll connect one-on-one to help you rejoin the group process.
This work draws from expressive writing research demonstrating that writing about an emotionally significant experience over consecutive days can produce lasting mental and physical health benefits. What makes this immersion different is that you won’t do it alone. You’ll have structure, regulation tools, and live facilitation throughout.
This is the founding pilot cohort of Self-Healing Stories. Future immersions will build on what we learn here.
